Calendar Description
Acquire a variety of perspective skills. Learn to use one- point, two-point, three-point, and shadow perspective, and develop sketches for layout and design, storyboarding, and background painting. Please bring a large (16" x 24") drawing pad and a pencil to the first class.

Section II: Course Details

Detailed Description
This course will give you a variety of perspective skills to develop sketches for layout; storyboarding; and background painting. A thorough understanding of 2 point perspective will first be developed, moving onto 2 point systems where images can be constructed from plan view, freehand techniques involving compound forms, ellipses, and inclined planes will then be covered. 3 point perspective and curvilinear perspective will be fully explored, followed by shadow projection and an introduction to spiral staircases.

-	Pick and choose techniques to create successful layouts and 
        backgrounds

            Attitudes
			
Successful students will have demonstrated attitudes of:

-	Problem solving in a group format
-	Problem solving one on one
-	Letting the problem dictate the solution both pictorially and 
        in technique

Evaluation Plan
Students demonstrate their learning in the following ways:

 
Evaluation will be based primarily on class assignments and 
participation, accounting for 60% of final grade.  Assignments in 
class will be weekly and homework assignments will be every 2 weeks 
accounting for 30% of final mark, attendance will be 10% of final 
evaluation.


Full participation and attendance is recommended for this course.  
Students who miss a class are responsible for any information 
discussed, assigned or distributed in that class period.
