Calendar Description
Students direct a film shoot for their capstone project based on the
development done in the previous term, and then prepare the material
to be used in the production of visual effects in the following term.

Detailed Description
In this second stage of the student¿s individual Capstone project they
produce and prepare the footage designed in pre-production in the
previous term. After experiencing film production and then assuming
the role of Director for their film, students work through the
post-production stage. They edit the footage they have acquired, add
sound, colour grading and necessary prep work to get ready for
producing the visual effects for their Capstone in the next term.

Critical Performance
By the end of the course the student will have demonstrated the
ability to acquire footage and prepare it for the production of visual
effects.
Learning Outcomes
To achieve the critical performance, students will have demonstrated
the ability to:
1. Direct a film shoot that is consistent with pre-production.
2. Acquire footage for use in visual effect.
3. Collect on-set data required for the production of visual effects.
4. Create an edit of acquired footage.
5. Add music and/or sound effects to locked edit.
6. Apply appropriate colour grading to a short film.
7. Prepare footage for the production of final visual effects.
8. Communicate effectively with all departments involved with film
production.

Course Details:Module 1 Acquisition
Direct a film shoot to acquire the footage for the Capstone project.
Assume different production roles to aid in the acquisition of footage
for classmates. Work with other students to ensure successful
acquisition of all required footage.

Evaluation Module 1 Capstone Production-40% of course grade
Module 2 Editing and Post-Production
Edit acquired material to create a rough cut for the Capstone project.
Edit acquired material to create a fine cut for the Capstone project.
Edit acquired material to create a locked cut for the Capstone project.
Create and add audio soundtracks to the Capstone project.
Perform colour grading for the Capstone project.

work, except for group projects arranged and approved by the faculty member, or otherwise submitting work that is not
