Section II: Course Details

Detailed Description
Students continue to practice oral and written French. The Conditionnel passé, Plus-que-parfait, Futur antérieur, Subjonctif présent are introduced. Students also become familiar with the vocabulary of new technologies as well as the environment. The emphasis is on oral development.

This course follows LANG70029 French Intermediate 2 in the Proficiency in Conversational French Program.


Course Critical Performance and Learning Outcomes

  Critical Performance:
By the end of this course, students will have demonstrated the ability to communicate in oral and written French using advanced verb tenses such as Conditionnel passé, Plus-que-parfait, Futur antérieur and Subjonctif présent; how to place words and expressions to make connections between clauses; and the use of the Pronoms relatifs.
 
Learning Outcomes:

To achieve the critical performance, students will have demonstrated the ability to:

  1. Communicate in different advanced verb tenses in order to give advice, express regrets and much more.
  2. Practice vocabulary to discuss topics such as new technologies and the environment.
  3. Express diverse levels of emotions, desires, doubts and give your opinion.
  4. Use indefinite adjectives Chaque and Aucun.
  5. Conjugate verbs using the present participle.

Students should spend a minimum of three hours per week on independent study to further cement the acquisition of French lessons. If you must miss a class, please advise your instructor, if possible, in advance. Your instructor will be pleased to give you the outline for the day in question. Your work at home will allow you to keep up to the rest of the class.
