Land Acknowledgement

Section II: Course Details

Detailed Description
Students will continue to develop their French oral and written skills using advanced structures and expressions, the use of pronominal verbs in the present/past tense, the "imparfait" as well as the use of irregular verbs and adverbs. They will discover the cultural components of bilingualism as they expand their awareness of the diversity of the francophone community.

This is the fourth course in the French language program intended to provide the foundation skills necessary for French language learning. Students may be assessed for French language level and moved into a higher level.


Course Critical Performance and Learning Outcomes

  Critical Performance:
By the end of this course, students will have demonstrated the ability to communicate in oral and written French using verb tenses and pronominal verbs.
 
Learning Outcomes:

To achieve the critical performance, students will have demonstrated the ability to:

  1. Communicate in past tense to describe activities and events.
  2. Use adverbs and pronouns in sentences.
  3. Express emotions and attitudes.
  4. Use pronominal verbs.
  5. Work on oral and written exercises: intentions, plans and projects.

Your work at home will allow you to keep up to the rest of the class.
