Land Acknowledgement

Detailed Description
Students learn the requirements for the test. They explore different strategies to be used in reading / writing tests and practice the production of written section. Through peer evaluation, controlled exercises, note-taking, group discussions, and essay writing, students prepare to take the IELTS Academic Reading and Writing Test Section.

Course Critical Performance and Learning Outcomes

  Critical Performance:
By the end of this course, students will have demonstrated the ability to utilize different strategies while reading / writing to use in the IELTS Academic Reading / Writing test sections.
 
Learning Outcomes:

To achieve the critical performance, students will have demonstrated the ability to:

  1. Identify the requirements of the IELTS Academic Reading and Writing Test sections.
  2. Employ a variety of strategies to demonstrate comprehending of academic texts.
  3. Effectively produce written responses to graphs, flowcharts, and tables.
  4. Write a 4 to 5 paragraph essay of approximately 250 words that is clear, coherent, and well-organized.
  5. Apply test-taking strategies to the requirements of the IELTS Academic Reading and Writing Test sections.
