Land Acknowledgement

Detailed Description
Do you know how to apply the basic rules of design to give your home a makeover in one weekend? In this session, look at top design questions and apply the fundamental rules of design practically into the residential environment. Bring photographs of your problem spaces in your home and solve these problems with the instructor in the classroom. Topics include furniture arranging, colour and mood, lighting, accessorizing, and much more.

Course Critical Performance and Learning Outcomes

  Critical Performance:
By the end of this course, students will have demonstrated the ability to apply basic home decorating rules through proper use of design elements and principles.
 
Learning Outcomes:

To achieve the critical performance, students will have demonstrated the ability to:

  1. Understand basic color theory and application and how to apply to your own home
  2. Apply tips to accessorize your own space
  3. Develop measurements, diagrams, and mood boards to better visualize your space
  4. Assign basic home decorating rules to any space
